HOFFMAN COURTHOUSE SECURITY UPGRADES

 

Location: Norfolk, VA

 

Scope of work:

Federal Government project to demolish the existing exterior entrance and construct a new concrete ADA accessible entrance and ramp to include anti-terrorism force protection bollards.  Interior construction of a new 1,940 square foot Entry Security Screening Station, weapons storage room, raised Court Security Officer Station. Interior 1,100 square foot renovation to District Court Clerks offices, four attorney witness rooms, and two staff attorney offices.

Work in corridors to add security doors and improved security measures. Construction work includes structural steel, new wall partitions, bullet resistant components, finishes, flooring, doors, power, and all associated changes for plumbing, HVAC, fire alarm, fire sprinkler and telecom.

RENOVATE NORTH GATE DEFENSE SUPPLY CENTER RICHMOND (DSCR)

Location: Richmond, VA

Scope of work:

Federal government project to renovate the North Gate of the Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR).

At the Truck Gate where the larger vehicles are inspected, renovate the entry lane including concrete, curbs, security fencing and gates, barriers, and utilities. Renovate the existing Truck Inspection Gate Building with upgraded finishes, lighting, plumbing, and HVAC.

Construct a new 600 square foot Truck Inspection Gate Building addition with toilet facilities, storage areas, and open office space. At the main entrance where regular traffic enters the base, renovate three incoming lanes and one outgoing lane.

Site improvements include replacing the internal active vehicle barriers, improved license recognition systems, drop-down gates, a new paved pull-off area, and three renovated guardhouses.

AV BRYAN COURTHOUSE PLAZA REPAIRS PHASE 3

 

Location: Alexandria, VA

Scope of work: Federal Government project to remove and replace 3,900 square feet of hot applied waterproofing membrane, pavers, and expansion joints in the Courtyard Plaza.

Includes removal and replacement of plaza trees, 3,900 sf of landscape planters, and 900 linear feet of trench drains.

Project requires irregular work hours and close coordination with the Federal Judges, staff, and courts in order to minimize noise and dust and minimize disruptions to court proceedings.

AV BRYAN WATERPROOFING PHASE 2

Location:  Alexandria, VA

 

Scope of Work:   Federal Government project to remove and replace the hot applied waterproofing membrane, pavers, and expansion joints in the Courtyard Plaza.

Includes removal and replacement of plaza trees, landscape planters, and cold applied waterproofing. Replace brick and flashing at arcade columns.

Includes demolition, concrete repairs, CMU repairs, and EPDM membrane in the interstitial space between the parking garage below and the plaza above.

The interstitial space work was required confined space measures.

Project also has requirements for the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 to utilize Low Embodied Carbon materials.

Project requires irregular work hours and close coordination with the Federal Judges, staff, and courts in order to minimize noise and dust and minimize disruptions to court proceedings.

WATER INFILTRATION CORRECTIONS

 

Location: Norfolk, VA

 

Scope of work:

Federal Government project to correct areas in the West Elevator Penthouse and basement area at the North parking lot where water is infiltrating the envelope/façade of the Court House and repair/replace elements that have been damaged and deteriorated from the water infiltration.

At the Penthouse, work involves repointing of all exterior limestone joints on outside face of the parapet wall, steel columns on the roof, brick repair and replacement, replacement of the copper gutter liner, and abatement of lead-based paint.

At the Basement under the parking lot, interior work includes repairs to deteriorated structural steel and concrete beams caused by water intrusion.

Exterior work includes demolition and installation of new sidewalks, steps, ramp, asphalt, concrete topping slab, and waterproofing membrane.

AV BRYAN COURTHOUSE PLAZA WATERPROOFING – PHASE 1

 

Location: Alexandria, VA

Scope of work:  Federal Government project to remove and replace the waterproofing membrane, expansion joints, and pavers in the Courtyard plaza; repair the pergolas and arcade columns; repair the masonry and re-roof the stairwells towers.

FUEL FACILITY REPLACEMENT

 

Location: Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi
Scope of work:  Federal government project to construct a new fueling facility, which will include three 50,000-gallon double-walled above ground horizontal storage tanks, tank-mounted pumps, a filter separator shelter, truck fill stands, recovery tank and additional related infrastructure.

Other work includes replacing transfer pumps at a bulk fuel facility, along with other mechanical and electrical modifications to support the new systems.

ROAD PAVING

Location: Hampton VA Medical Center, Hampton, VA
Scope of work: Re-pave 220,000 square feet of parking lots and roadways. Re-stripe 350 parking spaces. Install 5 crash arms, steel bollards, and all associated force protection barriers for vehicle control.

ACCESS CONTROL POINT

 

Location: Defense Logistics Agency, Richmond, VA

Scope of work: Build an Access Control Point on five acres.

Work includes a new 933 square foot Gate House, two bullet resistant guard booths, two steel covered inspection canopies, a vehicle search area shelter, new two lane entrance and roadways, parking, lighting, traffic control signals, security fencing, and passive and active vehicle barriers with comprehensive control systems.

PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS SKYLINE DRIVE

 

Location: Shenandoah National Park, VA

Scope of work: Pavement management of the roads, parking areas and pullouts including resurfacing, overlay, spot repairs and pavement markings.

Work will be conducted along mile post 0 to 5.63 on Skyline Drive and allow for minimal road closures as the Park is to remain open to the public during construction.
